Panthers on top
The Florida Panthers are now at the top of the Atlantic Division with a six game win streak. This adds to the list of surprisingly good teams this year. This team couldn't make the playoffs last year and now they are 6th in the league and 1st in their division 1 point over the Red Wings. With Luongo in net, Jagr as veteran power, Ekblad as the stud defender and stud 1/2 rookie, and other keys like Barkov, Huberdeau, and Smith. With plenty of young talent they can only get better and Luongo is doing amazing in net for these guys. I don't think this is a fluke since they have all these great players that can play and have had high draft picks and I think those draft picks are finally paying off. This is a good run, and it will end and they would eventually come down back to earth. Or will they? Is this a fluke? Can they keep this up? Are they a Stanley Cup contender? stay tuned......

Season Review so far #1
The year is almost over and the NHL season is halfway over so we're going to look back and the season so far.(not all teams will be reviewed) The Ducks really made a surprise for us by having a sloppy start and now 29th in the NHL. The Maple Leafs even under Mike Babcock can't seem to be consistent in wins. The Oilers with no McDavid have started to play well, but still at the bottom of the standings. The Flames had a horrific start, but have started to slowly rise from the grave, but they are 6 points out of a playoff spot. The Penguins have lately had a sad season since they lost their coach and other players, and under performing Crosby isn't helping. The Sharks have continued to decline even thought they have a playoff spot. The Lightning have been doing ok dealing with injuries and the Steven Stamkos situation, but they are only three points behind a playoff spot. The Bruins have been doing great lately and they are only one point behind the top spot in the Atlantic Division. The Kings have been on fire lately with a handful of wins and just keep rolling and are the leaders of the Pacific Division. The Canadiens have been falling lately on this road trip and Carey Price being injured doesn't help the teams as they are limping into the Winter Classic without their best player. The Islanders have silently been playing good hockey and have had a good transition to Brooklin and nobody has really noticed it. The Blackhawks have had a good run lately and even though Kane's streak has stopped they are doing good maintaining a playoff spot in the top 3 of the Central Division. The Rangers have had a great season even though they haven't been doing amazing lately, but everything is going fine for these guys. The Blues once again are doing great with their stars stepping up for the team. The Caps have been insane with their good season with Ovi having milestones to good team play. The Stars are amazing with Jamie Benn and Seguin as the top guys in the league and they seem unstoppable. That's it so happy holidays and happy new year! Will these teams stay consistent? Will their be any plot twists? stay tuned......

Quick Update
Hey guys, I just wanted to say sorry for not posting recently, but there is no big news really happening in the NHL right now. You could say the Johanson trade rumor is big, but he is not a superstar yet so it doesn't seem like a huge topic. Anyways I also want to say that I intend to post only trending topics and maybe other news if it catches my eye. Don't worry normal posts will continue soon and if there's no trending topic than I'll post some NHL news even if it isn't trending. So I'll see you then! stay tuned.......

Stamkos out of Tampa?
I have seen tons of rumors and sites that Tampa Bay Lightning captain Steven Stamkos might be out of Tampa. His contract expires this upcoming offseason and his extension talks are reportedly going no where. Trade talks are going practically no where as well so the only choice may be to wait it out until Stamkos is an unrestricted free agent. I should mention that he "accidently liked" something on twitter saying the Maple Leafs should go after hometown boy Stamkos. Could that be a sign? Only time will tell as the Lightning have to figure out something to keep him in Tampa of else we could see him in another uniform. We're gonna have to wait this out knowing something huge could be happening soon. Will the Lightning figure something out? Is this a distraction to the team? Where will Stamkos be next season? stay tuned.....

The streak
A 25 game point streak is what number 88 leading point producer has right now. This is what you see everywhere now since this is amazing. Kane has been unstoppable lately even though his team hasn't been the best lately. I've noticed his gets a lot of his points at the end of the game which makes it even more exiting and nerve racking. The Blackhawks second line is killing it lately with Kane, Panarin aka "Bread Man", and Anisimov. The big reason this is happening is because of his teammates on his second line. He has either assisted a goal from them or got an assist from them obviously. He broke the American record and just tied Crosby's record last night and may beat Gretzky's record......maybe. Kane is a great player and it's good to see him be so good after a weird summer with the Stanley Cup. One way or another he is nothing short of amazing even if the streak stops. Do you think it will continue? Can he break the NHL record? Is he considered "the best" in the modern NHL? stay tuned.....
Johnson no more
I know I just did something on the Penguins , but they just fired their head coach and hired Mike Sullivan. The Penguins had an underachieving season last year with a 43-27-12 record. That's what the GM said though. I think this was a little premature since the Penguins are a few points away for a playoff spot. 15-10-3 is 33 points and 15th in the NHL apparently seems bad enough to fire their head coach. A big reason Johnson was fired was because the Penguins have a lot of talent on their team , but not performing including Sidney Crosby which people still consider him the best. The team is falling apart with Dupuis leaving and Crosby not doing anything and a new coach. Maybe this is a good thing, maybe this is the solution to this sloppy team. Only time will tell...... Was this too early? Is it only the teams fault? will this help the team? stay tuned.........

Pascal Dupuis no more
This was shocking news that I heard about after school, PASCAL DUPUIS IS DONE. Remember he tried to play with a blood thinner for a little bit, but couldn't hold him up forever. I feel really bad to be honest as this guy had a rough little stretch going on towards the end. He's had a blood clot and other medical mishap and he's calling it quits. He said this was because of family 100% and I can see that. He could have toughed it out, but he
has a concerning family that cares about him. I actually thought that this blood clot he had last season would mess up his future, almost like Kemmo Timonen last season. attempted to play I say Dupuis had a great career with the Wild, Rangers, Thrashers and the Penguins even getting one cup with the Pens in 2009. Although he wanted a second cup he has nothing to feel ashamed of and I hope he has good luck with his medical business and family. could he have played longer? was this the wrong choice? Should he have made this decision earlier? stay tuned....

Datsyuk and his Wings
Pavel Datsyuk is 37 years old and still a "magic man" on the ice. I've been wanting to do this for a long time and state my opinion. I think Datsyuk can go for two more years than will retire as a lifelong Red Wing. Pretty amazing I think since he was a sixth round pick and ended up as a two time Stanley cup champion. It is obvious that he is declining, but I believe he can carry his team a little further. Now the Red Wings on the other hand can still hold up without him, but when he's gone in the future I think over time it will affect the team unless their draft picks do them any good. Can the Wings in the future go without him? Does Datsyuk still have it? stay tuned......
